Reducing Single-Use Plastics
Dry Amenities
To help reduce waste and support a more sustainable future, we have chosen not to provide certain single use plastic amenities in our guest rooms, including toothbrushes, combs and shower caps.
We encourage guests to bring any personal items they may require during their stay. Together, these small changes can make a meaningful difference in reducing our environmental footprint and preserving the beauty of Broome.
Eco-Friendly Pump Dispensers
To further minimise plastic consumption, The Billi has transitioned from individual amenity bottles to large-format amenities throughout the resort.
By replacing single-use shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers with large refillable pump dispensers, we significantly reduce plastic waste while maintaining the quality and convenience our guests expect.
Sustainable Guest Practices
Complimentary Bicycles
We provide complimentary bicycles for guest use, promoting low-impact transport around the resort and encouraging exploration of Broome in an eco-friendly way.
Recycling Initiatives
Recycle bins are available throughout the resort, including in villa accommodation, making it easy for guests to participate in responsible waste management during their stay.

Protecting Local Wildlife
Cable Beach Turtle Monitoring Program
The coastline of Broome is home to important nesting sites for flatback turtles, one of Australia’s unique marine turtle species.
Our owners proudly volunteer with the Cable Beach Turtle Monitoring Program in partnership with Parks and Wildlife. During nesting season, they participate in early morning monitoring activities along Cable Beach, identifying fresh turtle tracks and helping locate and mark nesting sites.
Through this involvement, The Billi helps raise awareness of local conservation efforts by sharing updates and information with both guests and staff, fostering a greater appreciation for Broome’s unique natural environment.
Environmental Responsibility & Staff Education
Sustainability is embedded throughout our operations and team culture.
Our staff undertake environmental awareness training and are encouraged to actively support responsible environmental practices both within the workplace and the broader community.
This commitment extends to our daily operations, where we continually seek opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and minimise our environmental impact.
Community Partnerships
Environmental sustainability is closely linked with strong communities. We proudly support local organisations and volunteer initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing of Broome and its natural environment.
One of our team members actively serves with the Broome Volunteer Fire Brigade (DFES), helping protect the local community and surrounding landscapes. Our staff are also trained as fire wardens and hold advanced first aid certifications, ensuring a safe and prepared environment for both guests and colleagues.
