Watch The Sunset On Cable Beach!
Welcome yourself to Broome by having a sunset cocktail at the Cable Beach Club Sunset Bar or be like a Broomie and take some chilled drinks down to the beach (yes you can drive on to the beach if you have a 4WD or Broome Broome Car Rentals have “Beach Cars” they will allow on to the beach.
For those without a car it is about a 20 minute walk or just jump on one of our bikes, take your beach bag or borrow a backpack from us and fill it with goodies and you can walk down on to the beach or sit on the grassed areas along the top.
There is also Zanders above the beach where you can get a drink and food and in 2023 the new Surf Club overlooking Cable Beach will open.
You can order fish and chips to take with you from The Cable Beach Store (next to The Divers Camp Tavern) or pack a platter and borrow an esky and chairs from us at reception.
However you do it – watching a sunset on Cable Beach is a must!
Book a Car or Scooter
Taxis are very expensive in Broome and Broome is very spread out – not matter where you are. We highly recommend you hire a car and do this as early as you can as they get booked out. As a guest of The Billi you are entitled to 10% OFF the daily car hire rate at Broome Broome Car Rentals whilst you are with us – PH (08) 9192 2210 for a small run-around to a beach car with umbrella and esky or a large 4WD to head out of town or people mover to get everyone around! Ride a Camel Along Famous Cable Beach
Various Camel options are available with a number of different operators. Rides can be morning (may vary slightly depending on company) Pre sunset short ride and Sunset Ride 1 Hour. Prices vary and start at $40 to $100 depending on age, duration and season. Adults can have lapsitters.
The Broome Bird Observatory
Located just 25km from Broome on an unsealed road. You can self drive or a transfer service may be available at a cost. Roebuck Bay has the greatest diversity of shorebird species of any site on the planet and around 150,000 of these birds visit annually. The magnificent coastal scenery of the bay provides a fitting backdrop for the birds and is a stunning attraction in its own right. Kayak Around Cable Beach
Experience the natural wonders of Broome’s coastline on a paddle adventure. When in Broome… for those who love fishing and even those who just want to get out on the water for a day’s adventure we have plenty of tour fishing companies in Broome, however please keep in mind these get heavily booked so we recommend you try to book WELL in advance of your arrival. Whale Watching
Relax in comfort as you observe the Humpback whales breaching, pec slapping, spy hopping, see cows (mother whales) teaching their calves to swim, sea turtles, sea snakes and dolphins plus see the rare Australian Snubfin dolphin. Sunset Dolphin Cruise

Feed the Crocodiles
The famous Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park just out of Broome is home to many, many crocodiles along with breathtakingly colourful birdlife, a cassowary, kangaroos, euros and wallabies, as well as emus, jabirus, snakes and lizards.
We recommend going out there just before 3pm for the daily “feeding” tour. Buy tickets at the gate.

Wander the Markets!
The Broome Courthouse Markets are held in the beautiful Heritage listed gardens of the Broome Courthouse. Started over 25 years ago by a small group of locals wishing to trade local product, they have grown to become a major tourist attraction in Broome and host up to 115 creative stalls over the Dry Season.

Walk like a Dinosaur
For nature of a more historical kind, nothing gets much more ancient than the 130 million year old Dinosaur Footprints which can be seen at very low tides at Gantheaume Point.
Footprints can be viewed at Gantheaume Point at tides below 2.16m. As the rocks can be slippery and steep, we recommend a high level of mobility and sturdy shoes are required.

Broome Dinosaur Adventures

Indigenous Mangrove Tour

Pearl Lugger Sunset Cruise
Sail the blue waters of Broome in Australia’s north west aboard ‘Willie’, one of the last operating pearl luggers in Australia. ‘Willie’, a 67’ Gaff Rig Schooner, modelled on the designs of early 1900 pearl luggers, was built to fish for Mother of Pearl shell Pinctada Maxima, which put Broome on the map and shaped the history of the region.
Sailing between Roebuck Bay and the idyllic Cable Beach, ‘Willie’ allows you to see how a traditional gaff rigged sailing vessel operates with all sails heaved up manually just as our forefathers did, whilst taking in the beautiful sunset. Staircase To The Moon
Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon which occurs when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 – 3 days a month between March and October.
The first two days of Staircase to the Moon generally also play host to the Staircase to the Moon markets at Town Beach. Here you can sample local produce, buy hand made products, a variety of international food, and enjoy the sounds of local entertainers. A Taste of Broome
Usually in August, A Taste of Broome is an epic three-day cultural showcase festival that will delight your senses and entertain the entire family. Festival goers will get a real taste of Broome’s best local food, culture, art, music, theatre and film across three main events in addition to a series of smaller and more intimate events created for an all-inclusive Broome experience. Events will evoke an era long gone, through the sights, sounds and smells of the past.
